| Zimmerman Custom Cues has become a passion for me,over the years. I began my repair hobby in 2001 when I found an old wood lathe in a local wood shop. After talking to other cuemakers about different jigs to build for this lathe to be able to repair tips and clean shafts, I quickly got to work. By the time I was getting things set up on this lathe, the Air Force moved me to South Korea in 2003. |
| I returned to the United States in 2003 and purchased my first repar lathe, a Mid-size Cuesmith lathe. Although the lathe was slightly used, with a little help from some friends, the lathe was running like new. In 2005, I converted my first house cue into a two-piece "sneaky pete" with no finish, just a wood sealer, which I still have tucked away in a case to this day. Since then, it's been all up hill! Although Zimmerman Custom Cues is primarily known for cue repairs, I have built about a dozen cues ranging from "Sneaky Z's" to "Wrapped Z's" to "Pointed Z's. As of June 01, 2007; Zimmerman Custom Cues is officially opened for business.I will be repairing and building cues part time, along with running the pro shop, attending college and maintaining a family. I would like to take the opportunity to thank some important people that I've met and received encouragement and guidance from over the years. Chris Hightower-- Cue Man Billiard Products Mike Webb-- Webb Custom Cue Travis Niklich-- Blackcreek Custom Cue Doug Patrick-- Patrick Custom Cues Chris Whitaker-- Chris' Cues International Cuemakers Association Members Most of all I would like to thank my wife Eva and sons Victor and MJ and twins Arianna and Evita for supporting me in my business and helping it become what it currently is and will be in the future. Thanks and I'm looking forward to your business, Michael Zimmerman, "Zim" |
